Tips For Getting Your Fitness Back on Track

Start your week off on the right foot. Here are some tips to get you going.

#1 — Make a schedule and stick to it

Sometimes we need to rely on routines and habits to keep us on the right track. Just like anything else, building a sustainable exercise routine is one of the best ways to keep you returning back to the gym. We recommend that you find times that work within your current schedule and book them off on your phone calendar. Keeping up a consistent time for your exercise will help keep you on track, even on days when you feel less motivated.

#2 — Try out something new!

Switch up your routine. If all you do is bootcamp and/or spin, ask about adding weight training to your routine. Small Group training is offered M-F at 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM & 9:00 AM, T/TH at 5:00 AM and Saturday at 7:45 AM. If all you do is weights, ask about a cardio option; such as spin and/or bootcamp. A spin class can be set up at anytime and bootcamp is offered M-F at 5:00 AM & 3:30 PM, M-Th 5:30 PM, M/W 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 6:00 AM & 9:00 AM.

#3 — Small improvements add up over time, so long term commitment is key

It can be discouraging to commit to a consistent workout schedule only to notice small changes to your strength and fitness. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your fitness routine. Try keeping the bigger picture in mind is a helpful way to remain positive. Small increases in weight at each workout over time and adding more protein to your diet can have a huge impact on your overall strength and fitness — so keep at it!

#4 — Remember to hydrate!

Staying hydrated is so important in regards to losing body fat, preventing muscle fatigue and essential for adequate muscle recovery. You should be drinking your lean muscle mass in water daily. On days you workout, if you sweat a lot, you need to drink even more water. If you are unsure of how much water you should be drinking daily, ask and we help you find our lean muscle mass.

#5 Use the CardioCoach app to stay on track

The CardioCoach app can be a great tool to keep you on track when you are not at Sculpt. If you have taken the RMR test, you have access to the CardioCoach app. On days you are not at the gym, wear your heartrate monitor and turn on the app and track your home workouts, run or walk. It's a great tool that can be used to help support and focus your fitness efforts.
