Why Get Tested?

What is it?

RMR testing is a device that measures the amount of oxygen a person consumes during an 8 to 10 minute resting test.  There is a direct correlation between oxygen consumption and caloric burn.

Why test?

The data show how many calories a person burns at rest.  This is keyto determining the precise calories necessary to lose or maintain weight.

Who tests?

Any clients who needs to gain, maintain or lose weight.  In general, people concerned with fitness and weight loss have questions about their metabolism; is it slow? Am I burning calories?  Testing provides an answer to those questions!

How do I use the results?

Results can be uploaded to Sculpt 's Metabolic Meal Plan app

Pre-test Requirements

It is desirable to measure a person’s metabolic rate at a true resting level. To ensure one is at rest, we recommend the following preparation:

  1. Avoid eating a meal 4 hours before the test.

  2. Avoid exercising on the day of testing.

  3. If possible, avoid the use of stimulants such as caffeine prior to testing.

  4. During the test it will be important to get into a comfortable position and relax as much as possible.

  5. Keep lips sealed lightly around the mouthpiece. It is important that all the air breathed out is analyzed by the MetaCheck.
